School Readiness Program Enrolment Form
Frequently Asked Questions.
Does Set for School replace preschool?
At Set for School, we aim to compliment your child’s time at preschool or long day care. We provide smaller groups that allow for more focused learning and opportunities for the children to build on those skills to support them in their transition to school. We use a literacy program called Pre-Lit to build on the foundations for reading and a handwriting program called Casey the Caterpillar to support correct letter formation.
What are the qualifications of the tutors?
All tutors are university qualified with years of teaching experience.
What does my child need to bring with them?
For our school readiness classes just a water bottle. If you come during our holiday program you will be asked to provide a snack and/or lunch.
Do you offer a family discount?
Yes. We offer a 10% family discount. Get in touch to let us know if you would like to book in more than 1 child.
Do you offer discounts if we book into more than one session?
Yes. We also offer a 10% on the second class. If you are a 1:1 student and book into a class you will receive a discount as well.
What happens if we can't make our session?
As per our terms and conditions, you need to ensure that you email the studio and then it is your responsibility to book a makeup session before the end of the term. Make-up sessions do not run over to the following term.
Do you offer a free trial?
We offer a free 20-minute trial for our school readiness sessions.
Can I stay for the class?
As the presence of parents during the session may distract the children and make some of them feel uneasy, parents are not invited to stay for the session. At the start of the session, parents are welcome to visit the studio, but they are kindly requested to leave promptly and return at the end of the session.
What is the youngest that my child can start?
We currently have children that are 3 years old that have started with us. We do recommend a trial for the younger children to make sure that they can cope with the lesson before booking into the term.
What ages do you do 1:1 tutoring and what is covered?
We cater to school readiness - year 6 children. Our 1:1 tutoring sessions can be tailored to the needs and goals of the individual child. We do use a literacy program called Pre-lit for the school readiness children and a literacy intervention program called ASCEND Smarter Intervention for children in primary school which helps with reading fluency, writing, and spelling. We can also work on other skills such as Mathematics and homework.
